During the summer months (May-October) a short tram ride from the Museum takes visitors to Pioneer Airport, which portrays a time when the magic of flying charmed a nation. It is our unique "living history" recreation of what airports were like during the early days of air travel. More than 50 vintage airplanes are displayed in seven period hangars, with fascinating displays including a tribute to the legendary air racer, designer and builder Steve Wittman. Younger visitors will enjoy a play area with swings and "pedal planes".
View Instructions

Visitors to the Museum can experience the thrill of "Golden Age of Aviation" by watching the aircraft take off and land on the grass airstrip during the flying season at Pioneer Airport. Rides are available, weather permitting, in a variety of airplanes.
