‘Plane Jazz’ Comes to EAA AirVenture Museum on March 5
EAA AVIATION CENTER, OSHKOSH, Wis. - (Feb. 26, 2005) - The sounds of cool jazz meet the sight of cool airplanes at the EAA AirVenture Museum on Saturday evening, March 5, as “Plane Jazz” comes to the museum beginning at 7 p.m. The event will benefit the youth education programs of EAA and the Grand Opera House of Oshkosh, and is sponsored by WBJZ Radio.
The featured artists are “Playtime,” a Wisconsin-based contemporary jazz group, which artfully blends smooth jazz and R&B, with a widely ranging repertoire, from the most traditional jazz to alternative rock. These established musicians and solo artists, who have recorded and toured in the U.S. and Europe with well-known jazz and rock acts, have also opened for numerous national and international acts.
The opening act for “Playtime” is the Eagle Street Jazz Combo, a group of top young musicians from Oshkosh West High School. In addition, the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Jazz Quartet will play during a special pre-performance set in the museum prior to the concert.
“This is a great opportunity to support local youth education programs while enjoying great music, light refreshments and, of course, the wonderful ambiance of the EAA museum at night,” said Elissa Lines, EAA vice president of development.
The ticket price of $20 includes hors d’oeuvres and concert admission. Special reserved seating is available at $30 person. A cash bar will also be available. For reservations, contact the EAA development office at 920-426-4816.
The EAA AirVenture Museum is located just off Highway 41 at the Highway 44 exit in Oshkosh. For more information, call the EAA AirVenture Museum at (920) 426-6108 or visit www.airventuremuseum.org.
