June 16, 2003 - Forty-two ultralights and light planes along with their pilots and families gathered on EAA’s Pioneer Airport on Saturday, June 14, to participate in the EAA AirVenture Museum’s annual Ultralight Days.
Perfect summer weather greeted the group, who enjoyed competition activities throughout the afternoon and fun flying in the evening.
The aircraft assembled included 18 Challengers, as well as a number of Quicksilver MX’s, Titan Tornadoes, Sky Raiders, and various Kolb models, along with one Air Creation trike and two powered parachutes. Museum visitors had the opportunity to inspect the aircraft parked adjacent to the Pioneer runway and talk with the pilots about their machines and activities.
The annual event is a highlight for ultralight and light-plane enthusiasts from throughout the state of Wisconsin. EAA Ultralight Chapters 1, 41, 75 and 121 participated.
