AirVenture Museum Receives Headset Donation

May 8, 2003 - Flightcom Corporation, Portland, Oregon, recently donated 30 of its Denali headsets to EAA AirVenture Museum for use in its popular flight simulation program for students, Operation Aviation, a three-hour training, planning and simulated flying rescue mission. Participants “fly” the missions in teams or four in mock cockpits powered by Microsoft Flight Simulator. Up to 1,400 students will participate in the 50 scheduled missions this year alone. Adult groups also use the museum’s flight simulation center for team-building and communications activities.

“We are very grateful to Flightcom for their support of the Museum’s ‘flagship’ education program,” said EAA AirVenture Museum Director Adam Smith. “To enhance the simulation experience we wanted to use authentic aviation headsets connected to a real intercom system. But we also needed something that would be absolutely kid-proof, capable of withstanding hard use (and abuse!) by thousands of young people. In all aspects, the Denali headsets are a perfect fit for our needs.”
