November 13 2002: There will be more than just airplanes and south-flying geese near the EAA AirVenture Museum in Oshkosh this coming Saturday, November 16. If the weather cooperates, they’ll also be some tethered hot air balloons at the Museum’s indoor/outdoor hot air balloon event from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Combined with related hands-on activities for all ages, this day has all the ingredients of a fun and educational fall family event.
Indoor events in the Eagle Hangar offer you the opportunity to feel what it’s like to be inside a real hot air balloon basket, or gondola; operate a hot air balloon simulator; and participate in a "make a hot air balloon" workshop. Balloon pilots will be on hand throughout the day to answer questions about this fascinating sport. Weather permitting, outdoor events will include a radio-controlled hot air balloon and free tethered hot air balloon rides.
The event and all its activities are included in the regular museum admission. For more information or directions, visit the Museum’s redesigned website at www.airventuremuseum.org, or call 920.426.4818.
