During “Whirlybird Weekend,” various types of helicopters will be on display throughout the weekend, invitations extended to everything from small, privately owned recreational rotorcraft to military, corporate, medical and media helicopters. Flight demonstrations by various aircraft, including vintage models such as EAA’s owned Bell 47 helicopter, will be featured throughout each day (weather permitting).
There will also be various ground-based displays and experiences, especially for young people, including “make-and-take” activities that help introduce and explore the world of flight.
“Whirlybird Weekend” is included with regular museum admission - $8 for adults, $7.50 for ages 62 and up, $6.50 for ages 8-17 and free for ages 7 and under. Daily family passes are also available for $21.
The EAA AirVenture Museum is located just off Highway 41 at the Highway 44 exit in Oshkosh. The Museum is open Monday through Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sundays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, call the EAA AirVenture Museum at (920) 426-4818.
