Join us for a trip back to 'The Good Ol' Days' Saturday, August 21 -
Sunday, August 22, 2010
EAA's window to the past comes to life for our annual living history event, Good Ol' Days, Saturday, August 21, and Sunday, August 22, at Pioneer Airport.

The usual staff and volunteers swap their modern-day clothing for attire from the 1920s and 30s, and take visitors on a journey back in time to the "golden age" of aviation.

Activities are available for all ages including a children's activity center where kids have the opportunity to experience hands-on games that were popular during the early days of flight.

Choose from Potato Sack and Egg & Spoon Races and a Yo-Yo contest! Or play an authentic old-fashioned board game; use one of the antique typewriters; color an airplane picture; and read a storybook about life in the Good Ol' Days.

Those with a sweet tooth can join in on the pie-eating contest, and those with a sweet spot for vintage vehicles can get an up-close view of many pre-war vehicles on display. Other activities include special flightline displays and hangar tours.

You can also watch staff hand-prop vintage airplanes or take a ride in two of Pioneer Airport's vintage aircraft. "Time travelers" can experience the sights and sounds of an open-air cockpit in EAA's 1927 Swallow and 1929 Travel Air biplanes. Young Eagles flights are available in EAA Young Eagles aircraft for aviation enthusiasts ages 8 to 17.

Good Ol' Days event admission and all event activities are included in regular Museum admission. Pioneer Café Food Service is available in the Vette Hangar from 11a.m. - 2 p.m. Menu items include fresh sandwiches, hot dogs, chips, cookies, drinks, and candy.

Vintage airplane rides, food, and beverages are available for an additional cost.

We'll see you in the past at Good Ol' Days!
