Celebrate the Good Ol' Days of Aviation!

Event Overview “Good Ol’ Days” is a living history weekend held annually at EAA’s Pioneer Airport in Oshkosh. It offers a genuine “step back in time” experience for visitors of all ages, re-creating what airports were like during the early days of air travel. Come and see the excitement and adventure of early flight brought back to life. You’ll meet characters from the past, rediscover the folklore, crafts and skills of old-time aviation, and see some truly incredible old airplanes take to the skies once more! Good Ol’ Days takes place August 18 and 19, 2007 – 10:00am to 5:00pm

Highlights

Good Ol’ Days offers a great day out for the entire family. The photographs below show just a few of the many activities on offer:

Weather permitting, incredible vintage airplanes will be flying all day! Look out for a wide variety of visiting aircraft.	It’s a great chance to meet the pilots of EAA’s vintage aircraft. Dressed in period costume they will share their vast experience in flying old airplanes.
A large family activity center provides kids with the opportunity to enter competitions and experience the fun and games that were popular during the Golden Age of Aviation.	A vintage air mail station allows visitors to create a piece of air mail that is flown in one of EAA’s vintage mail planes. This is a FREE activity – all materials and stamps included!
Meet characters from the past and hear their stories of aviation’s greatest adventures!	Airplane rides are available in a wide variety of vintage aircraft including the 1929 Ford Tri-Motor (pictured), vintage bi-planes. Prices start at just $30.
We’ve just discovered a time capsule from the 1930’s at Pioneer Airport and we’re going to open it at Good Ol’ Days. Make sure you don’t miss this exciting event!	A variety of vintage automobiles will be displayed and there’s an opportunity for everyone to take a FREE ride in a pre-war vintage vehicle.

Aviation Murder Mystery Dinner August 17 and 18, 6:30 to 9:30pm Mystery and intrigue abound at Pioneer Airport… can you solve the crime? Our Aviation Murder Mystery returns by popular demand. The honor of your presence is requested at the Pioneer Museum’s latest exhibit opening. After years of planning, Museum curator Evelyn Merriwether and famed archeologist Jack Slade have returned from a trip to Mexico’s famous Aztec ruins. This dynamic duo has retuned with a relic of the treasured Quetzalcoatl, an Aztec god. This famed feathered serpent statue will be the highlight of the Museum’s ancient collection. With the cast of characters set to attend this particular party be sure to keep a close eye on the statue. Apparently people are dying to get their hands on it! Tickets, which include dinner, are available priced $30 for EAA members and $35 for non-members. Reservations are recommended, and can be made through our secure website or by calling 920-426-6880.
